"Strategies for Managing Habitat and Predator Populations to Benefit Target Species"

SPEAKER: John Gruchy, Wildlife Biologist, Coordinator, Private Lands Program, Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, Jackson

Although predator-prey dynamics have been studied for decades, little is known about how current conservation threats, such as landscape-level habitat changes and introduction of non-native species, might impact local food webs.

Discussion will focus on habitat management strategies to allow target species to utilize their natural adaptations to increase production, as well as potential strategies for managing predator populations.
