Join us for Snake Week: June 3 - 8, 2013
The Museum will feature several special activities leading up to the opening of our newest special exhibit on June 8th, "Reptiles: The Beautiful & the Deadly":
On Monday, June 3rd, Wednesday, June 5th, and Thursday, June 6th at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., experience hands-on Creature Features.
On Tuesday, June 4th from 10 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., join herpetologist Bryan Fedrick for the Museum's annual Snake Day event. Learn the value of our native snakes and how to distinguish venomous species from non-venomous ones. Live snakes will be exhibited from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with lectures at 10:00 a.m. and noon.
On Friday, June 7th from 10:00 a.m. - noon, join Museum Conservation Educators for "Snake, Rattle & Roll Fun Friday". Fun Fridays are interactive, hands-on programs on Fridays in June and July. An adult must accompany children.
The "Reptiles: The Beautiful and the Deadly" exhibit opens on June 8th and runs through January 12, 2014. See them with your own eyes - fascinating and dangerous living reptiles from around the world! This modular traveling exhibition introduces visitors to deadly snakes, colorful lizards, bizarre turtles, alligators and crocodiles exhibited in naturalistic habitats. Click here for details.
