Join us for Snake Week: June 3 - 8, 2013

The Museum will feature several special activities leading up to the opening of our newest special exhibit on June 8th, "Reptiles: The Beautiful & the Deadly":

Mud Snake

On Monday, June 3rd,  Wednesday, June 5th, and Thursday, June 6th at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., experience hands-on Creature Features.

On Tuesday, June 4th from 10 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., join herpetologist Bryan Fedrick for the Museum's annual Snake Day event. Learn the value of our native snakes and how to distinguish venomous species from non-venomous ones. Live snakes will be exhibited from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with lectures at 10:00 a.m. and noon.

On Friday, June 7th from 10:00 a.m. - noon, join Museum Conservation Educators for "Snake, Rattle & Roll Fun Friday". Fun Fridays are interactive, hands-on programs on Fridays in June and July. An adult must accompany children.

The "Reptiles: The Beautiful and the Deadly" exhibit opens on June 8th and runs through January 12, 2014. See them with your own eyes - fascinating and dangerous living reptiles from around the world!  This modular traveling exhibition introduces visitors to deadly snakes, colorful lizards, bizarre turtles, alligators and crocodiles exhibited in naturalistic habitats.
