Species Detail
Largemouth Bass Bass fishing has been fair with some being caught in shallow water. Try throwing topwaters such as poppers and buzzbaits around laydowns and stumps. Follow up with soft plastics such as creature baits in junebug/red or black/blue.
Crappie Crappie fishing has been slow with some fish being caught in 12 to 15 feet of water. Try live minnows or cajun cricket colored soft plastics.
Bream Brea fishing is fair. Try fishing worms on the bottom.
Catfish Catfishing is poor. Try tightlining night crawlers or livers in deep water.

  • Only rod and reel or pole fishing is allowed on State Fishing Lakes except that carp, gar, buffalo, and bowfin may be taken by use of bow and arrow at night only after purchasing a valid permit for fishing and/or boating. No other gear is allowed at these lakes. 

 

  • Fishing is not allowed from courtesy piers adjacent to boat ramps. Night fishing is allowed from the bank or boats which are in compliance with state and coast guard regulations.
