1) 12" drop @ 100 yds due to 70 gr. bullet 2) Ammo is $25/box
My younger brother bought a Wal-mart Muzzleloader last year for around $100 and killed several deer. Most breechloading guns I've looked at start at $240.00.
Does anyone have any positives here that would make you by a breechload vs. muzzleloader(other than shell breechloading vs. barrel-loading)
Easier to clean ? Faster re-load for follow up shot ? Easier to unload after a hunt if not fired ? I will stick with my stainless steel knight in-line for now. It does the job. Might even just use the new hoyt bow. The more I shoot it the more I like it.
Go to a ballistics table and look at some of the possibilities, you will find several that will compare favorably to muzzle loaders..then consider the ease of loading, unloading and cleaning..plus everyone needs an excuse to buy a (new) different gun.
