The Buck Shop on 49hwy. At Pocohontas, Mike Triplet is a certified butcher and manager over meat dept. at Ramey's Groc. Stores. Hw has been processing venison for years and knows his business. He employs butchers from Kroger and other stores on their days off and all do a great job.

| If you want tamales made from ground deer meat, Tony's at 5 points in Jackson is the very best. No comparison. The only problem is he only does 20# orders. It makes about 50dz so you might want to go in with someone else. But if you like tamales you will never get them anywhere else. |

Tony's has moved. He is still in the same area only now he is in the old KFC buliding on Woodrow Wilson just east of the Jackson Mall.

Is there anything near Hattiesburg? I heard of a fellow in Glendale years ago but I've never been able to find him.

In SW Mississippi, there is no better than Vines Brothers. For smoked sausage....it just can't be beat. In central MS I have used Outfitters and S&D and they are both excellant. If J&C sausage is what you want.....S&D has the best I have ever tasted.

| Well we waited too late and Parkers isn't taking anymore meat til Oct. I need to get 2 hogs and 3 deer made into sausage so I can free up some freezer space for the garden. Who makes best smoke sausage from jackson to the coast? |

| I'm from the coast and I like malley's deer processing. They do quality work in a reasonable amount of time and they are good people. I don't think they are processing anymore until next year, but i would recommend them to anyone here on the coast. i do have a proposal though, i will email my address and everyone from all over the state can mail me a couple links from thier preferred processor and i will do a taste test. i promise i will be 100 percent honest and post the best.lol.. i know this takes alot of hard work and dedication on my part but i don't mind taking one for the team...lol... all jokes aside mississippi has some jam up deer processors.. everyone should be pretty close to a reputable processor.. and don't forget that louisiana has some good processors too for us in southwest mississippi |

To 14ReelFun, my preferrence for smoked sausage is Wilson's in Crystal Springs. They are a hog and cattle slaughter house with a store in the front and open all year. You might want to check with them first to be sure they will still take deer. Everybody has their favorite smoked sausage and most are different. Wilson's mixes theirs 50/50 with pork trimmings and spices that I like. Since you already have the hogs, that should save you from having to buy pork.
Ride it like you stole it. |

In my opinion, Martin's Deer Processing does the best smoked sausage and smoked hindquarter that I have ever eaten. I have used processors in Canton, Jackson, Yazoo City, and McComb and this guy is by far the best. His name is Stacey Martin and this is his info: Martin's Deer Processing 3759 Martin Rd. Bolton, Ms. 39041 601-317-1708 Give him a try, I think ya'll will be very pleased.
