Poll Question:
In January 2006, the MDWFP proposed to change the current crappie length and bag limits at Grenada Lake from a 10 inch minimum length limit with a daily creel limit of 30 fish to a 12 inch minimum length limit with a daily creel of 15 fish per person per day.

This is being done in an effort to maintain an excellent crappie fishery as fishing effort has doubled in the last 4 years. Crappie harvest in 2005 climbed to 17 pounds per acre. 81% of the anglers at Grenada target crappie and crappie comprise 85% of the total harvest there by weight. The average weight of crappie harvested at Grenada in 2005 was 1.2 pounds. After fishing pressure increased at Arkabutla the average weight went from 1.7 to 1.0 pounds. The average weights of crappie harvested at Sardis and Enid are 0.8-0.9 pounds. The MDWFP Fisheries Division is trying to maintain a trophy crappie fishery by restricting harvest to prevent a decrease in the average weight harvested.

Choices:

I support the proposed crappie regulations at Grenada.
I do not support the proposed crappie regulations at Grenada.
Stay with current regulations
