Got my dear back in two days from them. I couldn't stand it, I had to try the cajun sausage. It was great. I used to drive to Lee's in Byram because I wasn't happy with anyones sausage in Vicksburg. I am extremely happy now. It as real good and all of it is shrink wrapped which is a big thing for me as well.
I also got jalapeno and cheese made but I haven't tried it yet. |

I would highly reccommend Dave's Custom Meats on Hwy 80. Phone number is 601-636-0342. They are open from 8am - 10 pm 7 days a week. They have the best sausage...very well known all over the south for their product and hospitality. They have 8 different flavors to choose from on sausage. You will NOT be disappointed!

You keep saying Dave's is expensive but you fail to notice that Dave's does not charge a deboning fee like most others. Have you noticed the price of casings and seasonings these days? Processing is not as cheap as you think. After comparing Dave's prices to many others across the state, Dave's was the cheapest. They have great quality and a clean, Christian environment.

Oh yeah I do know how much casings have gone up and seasonings, it costs 6 bucks to do 50 pounds of meat of cajun or smoked in seasoning costs and the casings are about 24 a hank...Plus the outfitter beats the pants off of Daves and are a good bit cheaper.

I don't know where you are getting your seasonings or your casings for that cost. I know for a fact that the casings went up to $21 a hank last year. Of course, I would rather pay a little more for my product and know that I am getting what I pay for. Everyone has their own opinion but I think from the outpour of customers that Dave's has...He must be doing something right! I know Dave and all of his employees work their behinds off to make sure we are always satisfied with what we bring home. And as far as Outfitters beating the pants off Dave's.....That will never happen..Dave's just gets better and better!!!

And as far as seasonings..they have their own recipes ...not the same as every other place. And when you smoke around 30,000lbs or more of smoke sausage a year...I think you are good processor..must be doing something right.

Then the seasonings should not cost as much if they are making there own seasonings right? And being that they are one of the few processors in Vicksburg it is no surprise that they smoke 30,000lbs a year but I would bet that Rosetti and outfitter do quite a bit as well at a lower price...

dave's is good and they are good people, but my all time favorite is Dwight over on Hwy 18. He does great work at a reasonable price. But money is not the deciding factor for me it is quality of the product. Hearn may have been a guide but that does not make him a good processor. Not willing to chance my meat with someone who does not have a reputation.
