Sullivan's on the Winston-Kemper county line does it. Open all year. Cheaper than most and does good job.

| Be very careful with Wilson's. Had a bad experiance with them several years back. We suspected it but was hard to prove, then we did it. We would take a live hog every year to them to prepare so we could have a pig roast. We where buying quality pigs from a pig farmer at a certain size for the cooker. We always felt like the one we got back was a little to big. This happend 3 times. I told them the next year let me punch the tag in him. I did i punched the tail not the ear. When we went to pick it up they brought out one way bigger. I said that it not my pig they said yes it is. It got nasty for a sec. then a guy come out and i explained where i punch it and that one was in the ear. He went back in and got my choise top grain fed pig. They were swapping good meat for slop hogs. We never went back. Be careful with them. |

Bringing up an old post. I took that hog to wilson's last summer and got smoked sausage made. Out of an entire 150lb hog, I got about $35 worth of sausage. I don't know how much they charge or how much the meat weighed or how many pounds of sausage I got, but that doesn't sound right?
Also, the skins that they used on the sausage are so tough you can hardly chew them. The sausage tastes pretty good but it is too tough for my kids to eat. I will not use Wilson's again for this unless I have no other choice, which was the case this time. |
