Looks like pet material to me. Such peeaceful creatures, passive and non-aggressive.

I have a question for you snake guys. It is my understanding that if you come across a rattlesnake that he will let you know that he is there and will rattle to warn you of his presence. He will not normally strike at you, unless he is provoked. It is also my understanding that if you come across a cottonmouth that he will not be so forgiving, he has no way to let you know that he is there and is rather an aggresive snake and will strike without being provoked. Am I correct on these evaluations? How will a copperhead act when approached by a human??

My worst nightmare:
A knock at my front door, followed by the greeting "Hello, we're from the Government and we're here to help you."

your pretty close. My experience with rattlers is they are pretty easy going and will usually try to get away unless you corner/provoke them. A cottonmouth is a very agressive snake and will come at you.

A cottonmouth will stand his ground and will come at you!! When you are too close to cottonmouth and make him mad he will put off a foul odor like the smell of something dead. If I'm ever out in the woods or around the pond and smell that unforgetable smell I get the heck out from that area quick!!
