State Parks Careers


Careers in this field are dedicated to providing safe, family-oriented outdoor recreational and educational experiences to Mississippi's residents and visitors to our beautiful state parks. In this field, a person may find career opportunities in park management, construction, skilled crafts, maintenance, park security, food service, historical interpretation and housekeeping.   • Facilities Maint Supervisor - (Lincoln County)
    Deadline to apply for this postion - Thursday January 19, 2017

    This is entry-level work involving the supervision of semi-skilled craftsmen performing general maintenance and repair activities at a state operated institution or government complex. Duties include directing crews assigned to the construction and repair of state buildings or equipment, formulating initial cost estimates for projected labor and material used in project completion, and inspecting work upon completion to ensure compliance with work order stipulation. Supervision is received from a Facilities Maintenance Manager or administrative superior and is exercised over lower-level subordinate personnel.

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Education:
    Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED or High School Equivalency Diploma).

    AND

    Experience:
    Four (4) years of experience in at least one of the following fields: plumbing, carpentry,
    electronics, electrical works, plastering, painting, air conditioning/refrigeration, heating
    equipment, or general maintenance and repair.

    OR

    Experience:
    One (1) year of experience as a Facilities Maintenance Repairer II.
