JR. NAT. CAMP: Gives kids a chance to participate in indoor and outdoor activities that focus on the ecosystems of Mississippi. Campers learn about identification, collection, and conservation of our native species. Will include one overnight stay.

Cost - $150 for Members and $175 for Non-Members. Daily snacks will be provided, but each camper is responsible for his/her lunch.

Monday-Wednesday 8:00am-4:00pm; Thursday 8:00am with a sleepover;
Pick up on Friday 10:00am

FIELD CAMP: An ecology based camp that focuses on field collection and study of our native species. Each day will involve travel to a field study site to learn collection techniques of real field biologists with one overnight stay.

Cost - $200 for Members and $225 for Non-Members

Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m; Wednesday 8:00 a.m. - sleepover at Camp Shelby; Thursday return to the Museum by 6:00 p.m. 

"GO OUTDOORS ... CAMP!": Engages young campers in a variety of outdoor nature activities including hiking, bug hunts, wetland exploration, arts and crafts, and survival skills - just to name a few! Compare habitats and the plants and animals living in them. Try your hand at archery, net aquatic species, track woodland animals, and munch some wild edibles. If you're ready for an adventure, come join us!

Cost -

  • Kindergarten Camp: $115 for Members and $140 for Non-Members. CLOSED
  • All other "Go Outdoors ... Camp!" Camps: $150 for Members and $175 for Non-Members.

Morning snacks will be provided, but each camper is responsible for bringing his/her lunch and any afternoon snacks. Please refrain from sending snacks made with nut products, or that were made in a factory that processed nuts, for the safety of campers with allergies.

  • Camp is from 8:30am-4:00pm. Kindergarten Camp ends at 12:00 p.m., pick-up by 1:00 p.m..
  • Drop off from 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.
  • Pick up is 4:00 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. (For 1st-6th Grade Camps ONLY).

Preschool Summer Camp 2016:

Topic: "Birds, Bears, and Bumble Bees!" Where does a bird go in the rain? What does a bear eat for breakfast? Where do bumble bees live?

Preschool Camp is offered to ages 3-prek 5's. Each camp runs for three consecutive weeks on Mondays and offers hands-on natural science experiences for children and their caregivers.

Cost: Museum Members - Free; Non-Members - regular admission applies
