MDWFP Honored Fallen Conservation Officers
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP), honored and remembered those conservation officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as the family members, friends and fellow officers they left behind. An Officer's Memorial Service was held at 9:00 a.m. at the MDWFP main office located at 1505 Eastover Drive, Jackson, MS.
The service was open to the public and included a keynote address by Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann.
Conservation officers are certified law enforcement officers charged with protecting Mississippi's natural resources, keeping Mississippians safe in the field and on the water, and serving as first-responders during natural disasters.
The Officer's Memorial Service was one of many commemorative events that took place across the country during National Police Week 2013.
