Percy Quin State Park

Update - 09/13/12
All of the Percy Quin State Park activities are fully usable with the exception of the lake. Unfortunately the lake will be closed for an extended amount of time due to construction. Now that the lake is down to a safe level crews are beginning work on the Lake Tangipahoa Earthen Levee. If you have any questions, please contact the park office at (601) 684-3938 or email percyquin@mdwfp.state.ms.us.

Update - 09/01/12
Recent torrential rainfall amounts associated with Hurricane Isaac caused conditions favorable for a dam breach on Lake Tangipahoa at Percy Quin State Park. In response to these conditions, MDWFP employees, Mississippi Dept. of Transportation, U.S. Army National Guard, Mississippi Dept. of Environmental Quality, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers immediately initiated operations to control these conditions. Operators working day and night use heavy equipment preparing an emergency drainage ditch to help lower water levels.
