2016-17 Youth Participation Initiative Applications Announced

Jackson – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is pleased to announce the Youth Participation Initiative (YPI) is now accepting applications. The YPI was established to provide funding for the purpose of educating youth in the areas of hunting, fishing, outdoor recreation, and natural resource conservation. During 2015-2016, YPI provided a total of $147,672 to help fund 25 projects across Mississippi. In order to improve the program's services to grant recipients, the due date for YPI applications is moved to May 1.

Online Registration for Hunter Education Courses Now Required

JACKSON—The fall hunting season is around the corner which means students across Mississippi will begin participating in Hunter Education courses led by Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) instructors. Students are now required to pre-register for courses online at www.mdwfp.com

The YPI was established to provide funding for the purpose of educating youth in the areas of hunting, fishing, outdoor recreation, and natural resource conservation. During 2014-2015, the YPI provided a total of $147,274.00 to help fund 21 projects across Mississippi.
