Haley Haygood of Franklin County Awarded Archery Scholarship

Jackson - Franklin County High School's Haley Haygood is the first competitor from the Archery in Mississippi Schools (AIMS) Program to sign a college scholarship in the sport. Haygood recently signed an academic and archery scholarship with the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky. The University of the Cumberlands is the first university in the country to offer athletic scholarships in the sport of archery.

Haygood has competed in the AIMS Program since the eighth grade and has earned the honor of Female Shooter of the Year in four out of the last five years. She also helped lead Franklin County High School to the Class AAA AIMS State Championship.

In addition to being an excellent archer, Haygood excels in the classroom. She received a score of 32 on the ACT and a 4.00 grade point average at Franklin County High School. She is also a recipient of the Presidential Academic Scholarship.
