VEC to Host Bird Feeder Program
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Visitor Education Center (VEC) adjacent to Enid Lake will host a bird feeder program on Saturday, July 19 at 2 p.m. Participants will learn how to make feeders from natural items as well as items found around the house. Participants will also learn some interesting facts about common birds seen at backyard feeders.
Supplies will be provided along with easy-to-follow instructions and hands-on help. Those participating should come dressed to create messy but interesting treats for their feathered visitors!
The program is free with the price of admission. Space for this program is limited, therefore, interested persons are asked to register by calling the VEC at (662) 563-8068. Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60.
The VEC is part of MDWFP North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and is located at Exit 233 east off I-55.
