“Catch and Win” Fishing Rodeo
JACKSON - The 4th Annual "Catch and Win" fishing rodeo sponsored by Meridian area McDonald's Restaurants, television stations CBS24, NBC30, and Fox30, Meridian Community College, Meridian Coca Cola Bottling, and Pure Fishing Inc, begins March 26th and ends May 28th. Anglers fishing Neshoba County Lake, Kemper County Lake, Okatibbee Lake, Upper Bonita Lake, Lake Tom Bailey, and Clarkco State Park should inspect their catch carefully and look for fish with a white tag on their back. Three hundred fish were tagged and released in these lakes by Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Fisheries personnel.
Anglers who catch a tagged fish must take the tag and the fish to the Meridian Family of Stations studios at 1151 Crestview Circle in Meridian during normal business hours, 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday, to have the catch verified and to be entered into the contest for the Grand Prize Drawing.
According to Susan Ross, the general manager of the Meridian Family of Stations, "this event provides a great opportunity for fishermen, families, and friends to gather around Mississippi's beautiful natural resources, enjoy time out in our great outdoors and it gives everyone a chance to catch that extra special fish worth a big prize."
Allqualified anglers must be present on June 2, 2012 for the $100,000 Grand Prize Draw-Down. Every qualified tag will be awarded a prize worth at least $100 and one lucky angler will have a chance to win $100,000. For more information call 601-693-2424.
