MDWFP & U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Host Youth Fishing Rodeo at Grenada Lake
JACKSON - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are hosting a youth fishing rodeo at the Grenada Lake catfish ponds on Saturday, June 14. The fishing rodeo is open to youth 15 years and under; registration begins at 8 a.m. The ponds are located on the north end of the Grenada Lake dam.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, catfish bait, and stringers. Cane poles are recommended as space is limited and no casting will be allowed.
Fishing rodeos offer a quality fishing experience for younger anglers in a controlled and safe environment. The rodeo ponds are well stocked with catfish to make it easier for participants to catch fish. This event is a great way for a family to spend quality time together.
