MDWFP to Honor Fallen Conservation Officers

JACKSON-The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP), on May 16, will honor and remember those conservation officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as the family members, friends and fellow officers they left behind.  An Officer's Memorial Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the MDWFP main office located at 1505 Eastover Drive, Jackson, MS.

The service is open to the public and will include a keynote address by Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann.

Conservation officers are certified law enforcement officers charged with protecting Mississippi's natural resources, keeping Mississippians safe in the field and on the water, and serving as first-responders during natural disasters.

The Officer's Memorial Service is one of many commemorative events taking place across the country during National Police Week 2013.
