***Media Alert***Fallen Officers Memorial Changed to Wreath Laying

JACKSON-The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) will host a wreath laying ceremony to honor and remember its fallen Conservation Officers Thursday, May 15, at 9 a.m. The ceremony is open to the public and will be held at MDWFP headquarters located at 1505 Eastover Drive, Jackson, MS.

This will be an abbreviated version of the previously planned observance due to the sudden loss of MDWFP Master Sgt. John Collum, 56, of Fulton.

"We take this opportunity to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  The recent death of Master Sgt. Collum, killed in the line of duty last week, is a stark reminder of the many dangers our officers face daily," said Col. Steve Adcock, MDWFP Chief of Law Enforcement.
