Creepy Crafts and Spooky Science at 2nd Annual “Park after Dark”

Join the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks' Museum of Natural Science (MMNS) for "Park after Dark" and enjoy safe, family Halloween fun on Friday, October 25 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The MMNS is partnering with the Mississippi Children's Museum (MCM) and LeFleur's Bluff State Park for this family event.

Admission is $8 per person regardless of museum membership. Discounted, early-bird tickets are available for purchase through the MCM website for $7 per person. People purchasing their tickets online also receive early admission to the event at 5:30 p.m.

The entire family is encouraged to wear costumes. Families will be able to experience spooky science, create creepy, crawly arts and crafts, and trick-or-treat throughout both museums. There will also be costume contests at each museum this year. MMNS will be on the lookout for awesome animal costumes while MCM will be seeking the most imaginative costume!

"We are very excited for this year's 'Park after Dark,'" said Megan Fedrick, MMNS Education Coordinator. "Last year's event was a blast! Our educators loved putting a spooky spin on science education.  We are really looking forward to working with Lefleur's Bluff State Park and MCM again this year."

MCM Programs Director, Chavanne McDonald said, "Last year's event was a big success!  It provided families a safe place to come and learn spooky science, create fun holiday crafts, and even get some trick-or-treating in before the holiday. We love partnering with our neighbors [MMNS and LeFleur's Bluff State Park] for this fun, family event."

Check-in will be available at both facilities. For more information about "Park after Dark" or how you can purchase early-bird admission, please visit www.mdwfp.com/museum or www.mississippichildrensmuseum.com.
