MDWFP Opens Campground at Neshoba County Lake
JACKSON - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) will open a new and improved campground at Neshoba County Lake on March 7, 2014. The campground has 22 newly developed camp sites providing water, sewer, and 100 amp electrical services. The sites were built to accommodate camping for recreational vehicles on one of MDWFP's most popular state fishing lakes.
"I'm excited not only for MDWFP but also for the people of Philadelphia and surrounding areas that take so much pride in Neshoba Lake," said Representative Scott Bounds, Chairmen of the House Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Committee. "We have a facility that is one of the finest recreation areas in the state. The new campground enhances the attraction Mississippi outdoor enthusiasts have to Neshoba Lake, one of the premier fishing destinations in the state lake system. I appreciate MDWFP working with Senator Giles Ward, Chairman of the Senate Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Committee, and I in completing these needed improvements. We are excited about this project and its added contribution to the lake."
Neshoba County Lake is a 138-acre lake located six miles southeast of Philadelphia off Highway 486.
