Road Improvements Made on Old River WMA
JACKSON - Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) personnel recently made improvements to roads on Old River Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Old River WMA roads are often damaged from winter and spring flooding of the Pearl River. These roads provide management access as well as public access for hunting, fishing, and other recreational activities.
WMA visitors need to be aware that WMA roads are periodically closed due to flooding. Roads may also be closed until necessary repairs are made to make sure they are safe for public use. Also, some roads may only be open for ATV or walk-in use. Visitors are encouraged to review the Old River WMA regulations for more information about WMA and road closures due to flooding.
