Dove Hunting Opportunity Available on Copiah County WMA
JACKSON - Copiah County Wildlife Management Area (WMA) will
once again offer dove hunting opportunities this year. WMA
personnel have professionally prepared two dove fields on the area.
Dove hunting at Copiah County WMA is allowed on Wednesdays
and Saturdays from noon until sunset during the first North Zone
dove season, September 1 - 23.
Visitors to Copiah County WMA should be aware of special
regulations that apply to all WMAs. All visitors to WMAs,
except those exempt from purchasing an annual hunting or fishing
license, must purchase and carry an annual statewide WMA User
Permit. WMA user permits may be purchased wherever hunting
and fishing licenses are sold. Fees collected from the
purchase of WMA User Permits help defray the costs of management
activities on WMAs. Additionally, visitors must complete a
daily visitor use permit card before entering the WMA. These
permit cards are available at the permit station located at the WMA
headquarters.
