Wildlife Management Area Public Meetings – North Delta and Southeast MS
JACKSON - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Wildlife Management Area (WMA) has two public meetings scheduled for next week. These meetings will showcase regional WMA harvest data, habitat work, infrastructure improvements, and information about MDWFP. All WMA users, adjacent landowners, hunting clubs, and interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
WMAs to be covered at the North Delta meeting on February 21st will be Charlie Capps, Leroy Percy, Malmaison, Muscadine Farms, O'Keefe, and Stoneville. This meeting will be held at the Muscadine Farms WMA headquarters, located in Washington County near Greenville from 7:00-8:30 pm. WMAs to be covered at the Southeast meeting will be Chickasawhay, Leaf River, Little Biloxi, Mason Creek, Pascagoula River, Red Creek, and Ward Bayou on February 23rd at the East Central Community Center in Wade from 7:00-8:30 pm.
"The primary goal for these meetings is to update the public on management activities on these WMAs and provide information about MDWFP," said Chad Dacus, MDWFP Wildlife Bureau Assistant Director. "These meetings will give the MDWFP an opportunity to interact with the public and keep them informed about activities on these WMAs."
MDWFP biologists, WMA personnel, and law enforcement officers will be in attendance to answer questions from the public.
