Wildlife Management Area Public Meetings in the South Delta and Southwest Mississippi
JACKSON - MDWFP is hosting public meetings on September 25 for
the South Delta WMAs at Hinds Community College in Vicksburg and on
September 27 for the Southwest WMAs at Percy Quinn State Park in
McComb. The meetings, which are scheduled from 7:00 - 8:30
p.m., will showcase WMA harvest data, habitat work, and
infrastructure improvements on WMAs in the South Delta and
Southwest Mississippi. All WMA users, adjacent landowners,
hunting clubs, and interested citizens are encouraged to
attend.
WMAs to be covered at the South Delta WMA meeting on September
25th will be Howard Miller, Lake George, Mahannah, Shipland,
Sunflower, and Twin Oaks. And WMAs to be covered at the
Southwest WMA meeting will be Canemount, Caston Creek, Copiah
County, Marion County, Theodore Mars, Natchez State Park, Old
River, Sandy Creek, and Wolf River.
"These meetings will give us the opportunity to show the
public what we have accomplished on our WMAs, receive input from
the public about these activities, and provide information about
WMAs," said Chad Dacus, MDWFP Wildlife Bureau Assistant Director.
"These meetings will give us an opportunity to interact with
the public and keep them informed about activities on these WMAs."
MDWFP wildlife biologists, WMA personnel, and conservation
officers will be in attendance to answer questions from the public.
