Mr. Scott Coopwood of Cleveland, Mississippi, was sworn-in on April 14th, after being reappointed to the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks by Governor Tate Reeves. He will continue to represent the Mississippi Delta, on the commission.

The Cleveland native and University of Mississippi alumnus (1984) is the founder and publisher of The Delta Business Journal, Delta Magazine, The Delta Ag Journal, and most recently, The Bolivar Bullet weekly newspaper.  Mr. Coopwood is an avid duck and deer hunter and is knowledgeable on the economic impact of hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation on the economy of the Delta and the state in general. In addition to his publishing business, Coopwood also operates Coopwood Communications, Inc., a marketing, advertising, and public relations firm.

Due to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 legislative session adjourned before many executive branch appointments could be confirmed by the Senate.  In March of this year, the Senate confirmed Scott Coopwood to serve out a second term as a Commissioner on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.

Mr. Coopwood’s knowledge and expertise will be greatly appreciated as he continues to serve the people of Mississippi as a leader in natural resource conservation.
