The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks’ (MDWFP) Visitor Education Center (VEC) will host a "Choctaw Artifacts" display through June 4. The display features beadwork, hand-made jewelry, baskets, flutes, and other items relevant to the Choctaw culture.  Most of the items are on loan from Allen Winters family’s personal collection. Mr. Winters is the fourth great-grandson of Choctaw Chief Mushulatubi.

The VEC provides an educational and entertaining experience that promotes freshwater sport fishing and encourages the conservation and stewardship of aquatic resources. Visitors can enjoy a native habitat area, a 10,000-gallon aquarium, interactive exhibits, displays, artifacts, a gift shop, and gallery.

For additional information, call the VEC at (662) 563-8068. Admission is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3 -17 and adults over the age of 60.
