The MS Outdoors Crew

Melvin has been a host on Mississippi Outdoors for
over 30 years. The Neshoba County native and Newton resident
started his career with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife,
Fisheries, and Parks in 1966. Melvin is a true Mississippi icon.
Every week Melvin has been greeting the viewers of Mississippi
Outdoors. His warm smile and genuine personality have endeared him
in the hearts of Mississippi sportsmen and women. Without even
trying, Melvin has ingrained himself into the fabric of
Mississippi's outdoor landscape. Melvin once said he's been living
every country boy's dream and he's able to exceed his expectations.
"Very few people get to live out their dreams and fantasies,"
Melvin said. "With God's grace, the support of my wife Betty and
the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks I've
been able to do just that."

Randy was born and raised in Meridian, MS and
introduced to the outdoors at a very young age by his parents, Joe
and Betty Newell. Both parents had him out on the lake or in the
woods year round. He now resides in Rankin County with his wife,
Donna and son Addison. Randy is a Conservation Officer for The
Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Parks with over
seventeen years of experience. "I am living a God given dream in
the opportunity I have been given," Randy said, "And I plan on
every child and family in the state of Mississippi to live it with
me." Randy is actively involved in A-Hunt-Above, which is an
organization that creates hunting and fishing opportunities for
physically challenged children and children with life threatening
illnesses.

Todd Shiyou is a Hancock County native, the youngest of four sons to Michael and Juanita Shiyou. Being part of a family that loved the outdoors, it was natural for Todd to hunt and fish for whatever was in season. Todd's main passion is speckled trout fishing. He never missed a chance to go with his dad. Naturally as Todd became older, venturing offshore, blue water fishing was just another step to make him a more rounded fisherman. No matter what the season Todd will be out there.
