The beautiful hardwood forests of Holmes County State Park are home to an abundance of wildlife, and provide the scenic backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities. Built around two lakes covering 88 acres, the park offers such diverse excitement as fishing, camping and cabin rentals. Holmes County State Park offers easy access to the Interstate 55, which will bisect North and South Mississippi. The convenient location and diverse outdoor recreational amenities make Holmes County State Park a favorite retreat.

Developed Camping
The 28 sites available for RV camping feature picnic tables
and grills, water and electrical hook-ups, and a central sewage
dumping station. A bath-house with hot showers and a coin-operated
laundry are located in the developed camping
area.

Tent
Camping
The 12 site tent camping area features picnic
tables, grills, and water in a hardwood forest setting located
approximately one-quarter mile from the
lakes.
Vacation Cabins
Holmes County State Park features 12
air-conditioned vacation cabins accommodating four to six persons,
each furnished with bed and bath linens and basic kitchen
equipment. Six rustic style cabins are located near the lake. Six
duplex cabins are located in a wooded setting.

Group Camp
Group camping for up to 100 is available in an
air-conditioned dormitory featuring separate counselor's quarters
and meeting rooms. Meals are served cafeteria-style in the dining
hall, which seats 100. Campers must provide their own linens,
towels, pillows, soap, and other personal items. Group Camp Meeting
Room seats 25. The Group Camp Dining Room seats up to 100. The Old
Group Camp seats up to 100. Reservations are
required.
Food Service
Full Food Service is available in Group Camp Dining Room. Call for
menus and pricing.

Picnic Area/Shelter
The Park's three picnic areas are equipped with
tables and grills and afford views of the water. Three large picnic
pavilions are available for reservation, providing the perfect spot
for family reunions, company picnics, and church or school
outings.

Nature Trail
A system of interpretive nature trails winds through
approximately four miles of the park, providing visitors with a
close look at native plants, birds, and wildlife. An outdoor
amphitheater located along the trail seats approximately 50 people
and is available for use at no charge.
Playground
Several playgrounds are located throughout the
Park.
Boat
Launching
Holmes County State Park offers two fishing lakes,
both well-stocked with bass, bream, and catfish. English Lake is
equipped with a boat launch. Odom Lake has no boat launch
area.
Fishing
Holmes County State Park offers two fishing lakes,
both well stocked with bass, bream, and catfish. Fishing is
permitted with a fee. A Mississippi fishing license is required for
all persons between the ages of 16 and 65. Licenses may be
purchased from the park office for a nominal fee.
