Improving Wildlife Habitat Through
Longleaf Pine Forests Restoration
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is committed to helping private landowners restore longleaf pine forests. In 2013, the Foundation for Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks in partnership with the MDWFP obtained a grant to provide cost-share to landowners in Marion, Covington, Lamar, and Pearl River Counties. The Foundation will reimburse landowners for up to 50% of the cost of longleaf pine reforestation.
Landowners must submit an application for entry into the program. All applications will be competitively ranked based on potential habitat benefits and will be selected for funding by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
