Want to expand your knowledge about north Mississippi trees? You will get that opportunity when a Mississippi State University Extension forestry specialist presents a tree identification program. Forest Specialist Brady Self will be at the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) Visitor Education Center (VEC) on Saturday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m.

The tree identification course is for anyone interested in learning how to identify trees indigenous to north Mississippi. The program will consist of a presentation and a hands-on field tour of trees located around the North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and VEC.

The program is free with the price of VEC admission, which is $2.50 for adults ages 18-59, and $2.00 for youth ages 3-17 and adults over the age of 60.

The VEC is part of the MDWFP North Mississippi Fish Hatchery and is located at exit 233 east off I-55. For additional information call the VEC at (662) 563-8068.
