JACKSON - Dress up, create creepy crawly crafts, go trick-or-treating inside, and participate in hands-on spook-tacular games at two award-winning museums during the 6th Annual “Park After Dark” (PAD)! MDWFP’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science (MMNS) and the Mississippi Children's Museum (MCM) will host PAD on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The museums are adjacent to one another at I-55 and Lakeland Drive at LeFleur’s Bluff State Park. Experience "night at the museums" at this one-of-a-kind Halloween party! One night, one ticket, two museums. There is not another event like it in Mississippi!

“Our museum’s theme this year is ‘Monsters: Real and Imagined’ and features kid-friendly dinosaurs, a ‘Wild Rumpus’ romp with the wild things, and spooky science!” says MMNS Director, Charles Knight. Visitors can also play “Little Monsters” carnival games, observe the moon with NASA’s friendly “werewolves”, and meet Dr. Hendrixson‘s not-too-monstrous spiders.

“We love this event and enjoy partnering with the natural science museum every year! Park After Dark gives families a safe place to trick-or-treat, dress-up in creative costumes, and have fun while learning,” says MCM Director of Marketing, Mary Alex Thigpen.

PARKING AND TICKETS: Parking is available at both museums and Smith-Wills Stadium on Lakeland Drive. Law enforcement will direct parking. A shuttle bus will run continuously between all three locations. Tickets are $9.00 per person and include parking/shuttle, entry into both museums, and all PAD activities. Purchase advance tickets for $8.00 beginning in early October until October 26th at www.mschildrensmuseum.org. Those with pre-sale tickets can enter at 5:30 p.m. Or, purchase at the door of either museum the evening of the event.
