The 5th Annual Mississippi Science Fest (MSF), presented by C Spire, is a fun, online event hosted by the four museums of Jackson, Mississippi's LeFleur Museum District (LMD) on the LMD's Facebook page on September 18-19, 2020.
The MSF was originally organized by leaders from all four museums of the LMD to showcase the Magnolia State's innovative science, technology, engineering, and mathematic (STEM) industries and organizations. Due to COVID-19, this year's MSF will be conducted online and a supplemental activity kit will be available to purchase online for $15.
The museums of the LeFleur Museum District have created a special kit full of our favorite science-based activities for you and your family to complete at home in conjunction with the 2020 Mississippi Science Fest! Each kit will include 8 activities, supplies and instructions as well as access to online content to help assist you in each activity.
Some of the activities include:
- Egg-cellent Anatomy – Dissect an egg and learn about its anatomy!
- Think Fast! – Measuring and understanding reaction times
- Hoop Gliders – Explore physics principles through creating and testing hoop gliders
Each kit is $15 each and may be ordered for pick up at MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science from Saturday, September 12th through Thursday, September 17th each day during normal business hours. All kits must be picked up by September 30th. Quantities are limited to the first 200 orders.
Kits may be shipped for an additional $10. Shipping offer will be unavailable after Friday, September 11th.
