Fishing Report

Aliceville Lake - 5/13/2024 8:56:36 AM
Species Detail
Bass The bass reports continue to be fair as the fish are in their post spawn pattern. Some good topwater action with frogs and buzzbaits can be had around any vegetation and woody cover. Once the sun gets high, anglers are opting for a Texas-rig around that same cover.
Crappie Anglers are looking for backwater areas that aren’t affected by the main channel. Some areas to consider would be Camp Pratt and Swedenburgs, but most of the action seems to be on the lower end of the lake closer to Coalfire. Anglers are looking for that shallow bite around any wood and grass. Crappie jigs seem to be working better than minnows.
Catfish Catfish anglers reported some success just off the channel. Target current breaks and eddies with cutbait for best results. Jug and trotline fishing seem to be the techniques of choice, but a few anglers are finding success using rod-n-reel combos in the mid to upper lake area.
