The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Mississippi Museum of Natural Science (MMNS) invites visitors to explore, discover, and celebrate the great outdoors at the Museum’s annual signature event, “NatureFEST!” on April 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is reminding Mississippians that fishing can be as simple as picking up a rod and reel and heading to the nearest body of water.

Education and Outreach
Any person born after January 1, 1972, must complete a hunter education course to legally hunt in Mississippi.
Any person born on or after June 30, 1980, must complete a boating education course in order to operate a boat on Mississippi public waterways.
AIMS (Archery in Mississippi Schools) and MSSP (Mississippi Scholastic Shooting Program) provide valuable opportunities for students to develop skills, discipline, and sportsmanship.
