Private landowners and managers are invited to participate in this hands-on prescribed fire workshop designed to demonstrate how fire can be used as an effective tool for enhancing wildlife habitat and managing timber. Experienced fire practitioners will be available to answer questions.

  • Registration: 8:30 a.m.
  • Workshop: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Cost: $5 (includes lunch)

Topics Covered

  • Fire ecology and history
  • Legal considerations for prescribed burns
  • The impact of weather and fuels on fire behavior
  • Ignition and suppression techniques
  • Planning and implementing a successful burn

Weather permitting, each workshop will include a live fire demonstration to showcase prescribed burn techniques in action.

Continuing Education Credits
