Want to learn about shark biology or how shrimp are caught? Curious about Mississippi’s marine fishes? Then this is the event for you!

MDWFP’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, along with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources and other coastal agencies and organizations, will host fun and informative activities and demonstrations about Mississippi’s coastal resources, the seafood industry, and fishing!

Green Ghost Tacos Food Truck and Tori Faith Facepaint will be here, too (not included with admission).

COST: 

This event is suitable for the whole family and is included with MMNS Foundation Membership or regular museum admission.

  • DMR Coastal Resource Management - invasive species
  • DMR Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve - magnetic fishing game for families
  • Institute for Marine Mammal Studies - dolphin fin ID game and sea turtle “blood sampling”
  • Gulf Coast Research Lab Marine Education/CRFD - Ocean Science
  • MSU Marine Fisheries Ecology - sharks, rays, and bony fishes
  • USM Phillips Lab - Sawfish
  • Audubon Delta - coastal bird exhibit where you can “band a bird”
  • USM Center for Fisheries Research and Development - Whale shark ID, Pin the Find, and a trawl table
  • MSU Coastal Conservation and Restoration Program/ MS Sound Estuary Program - Living Shoreline, sandbox activity, thermal drone display, and more!
