Join Bear Biologist Anthony Ballard as he offers a brief look into the history, biology, and research on black bears in our state. We will also explore ways to avoid conflict as our population expands.
BIO: Anthony Ballard holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Joining the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) in 2015 as the Nuisance Species Program Biologist, Ballard has demonstrated a strong commitment to wildlife conservation and management. In February 2023, he assumed the role of project lead for the Black Bear Program.
