Species | Detail |
---|---|
Largemouth Bass | Bass fishing has been fair. Try fishing shallow cypress trees, destroyed piers, and laydowns with chatterbaits, lipless crankbaits jigs, and spinnerbaits. Target bass around woody cover, cypress knees, and piers. |
Crappie | Crappie fishing has been fair. Fish are still spread out with more and more anglers moving offshore and chasing schools. Popular jig colors this week included cajun cricket, electric chicken, and monkey milk. Anglers spider rigging have had good results as schools of crappie are on the move. |
Bream | Bream fishing is good. Try targeting bream with redworms or crickets. Try fishing around docks on bottom. A good area to catch bream is near Muddy Bayou around deep cover. |
Catfish | Catfishing is good and getting better. Catfish are being caught at all water depths Try worms, liver, Kool-Aid soaked chicken, crawfish tails, or cut bait fished on or near the bottom. |
White Bass | White bass can be caught with crankbaits and spinner baits. Try fishing deeper water around piers and open areas out from the piers. Fishing near the mouth of Muddy Bayou can be good when there is current. |
