| Species | Detail |
|---|---|
| Largemouth Bass | Bass fishing is slow. Bass are starting to move up and are holding to cypress trees, piers, and brush piles. Try targeting bass with spinnerbaits fished near docks, jigs around cypress knees, or hollow bodied frogs around pads. Vegetation near buck chute will likely be holding bass. |
| Crappie | Crappie fishing has been good. Crappie have been reported to have a slow bite. Fishermen have been successful catching Crappie suspended over brush piles or on the move in 12-17 feet of water. Try Fish small jigs with orange, gold or chartreuse heads paired with monkey milk, Cajun cricket, or blue ice plastics 6 to 9 feet deep. |
| Bream | Bream fishing has been slow. Look for bream near edges. Buck Chute, Muddy Bayou, and Float Row are popular spots to bream fish. Try fishing crickets or red worms. If you're looking for a challenge, try targeting bream with a fly rod. |
| Catfish | Catfishing is fair. Try cutbait, worms, crawfish tails, or shrimp fished on the bottom. Adding kool-aid or garlic for a little extra enhancement has proven successful. |
| White Bass | White Bass are seldom targeted but caught in abundance by crappie and largemouth bass anglers. Try targeting them with little George's or shad imitation crankbaits. |
