Fishing Report
Bass | The cooler temps may mean more anglers, but don't expect much change in the fishing yet. Water temps are still in the upper 80s, and the bite is slow to fair. Bass are still chasing schooling shad, but the bite has slowed down. Watch for shad breaking the surface and throw a popper, walking bait, or fluke into the mix. Texas/Carolina-rigged soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and weedless swimbaits are all good lures, as are topwater lures fished early in the morning, late in the evening, or on overcast days. |
Crappie | No crappie anglers have been available for an interview lately. Use your electronics to locate fish and try enticing them with live minnows. Anglers can target deeper points with cover or in the coves. Also, as a reminder, the lake crappie record is currently open. |
Bream | The bream bite is fair. Target shallow cover, especially around wooden piers. Tight lining red worms or crickets is a productive technique. Also, there is no lake record for Bluegill. |
Catfish | No current reports on catfish. Try tight lining with liver, cut bait, stink bait, and/or night crawlers. Look for the deeper laydowns, off-shore brush tops, the creek channel, and the fishing piers to hold a few fish. |
