Species | Detail |
---|---|
Bass | The bass bite is slow to fair. Anglers are using both live bait and artificial lures to catch fish. Minnows, soft plastics, Alabama-rigs, rattletraps, spinnerbaits, and shakeyhead worms are all good options. Topwater lures are successful early in the morning and late in the evening. Try targeting the creek channel and laydowns on the deeper banks adjacent to the channel. |
Crappie | The crappie bite is fair, but has slowed down. Anglers are targeting the brush along the creek channel. Jigs or jig/minnow combinations will be the best bait choices. |
Bream | Bream fishing has been slow recently, particularly for bank anglers. Boat anglers have been having better luck in general. Tight lining with worms or crickets is the best bet, particularly when the bream are not bedding. |
Catfish | No reports on catfish, but there should be an uptick in the bite after the recent stocking of fish for the rodeo over the weekend. Target the creek channel and around the deeper points with night crawlers, cut shad, and/or liver. Tight lining is the most popular technique for catfish. |
