Fishing Report
| Species | Detail |
|---|---|
| Largemouth Bass | Bass fishing has been slow. Try using spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits around docks and boathouses. Some bass should be moving into the shallows near the cypress trees around float row. Try targeting these fish with football jigs or buzzbaits. |
| Crappie | Crappie fishing is good and is getting better. As water temperatures start to decrease look for crappie to become more active. Try fishing with jigs in black/blue, electric chicken, or monkey milk. Another excellent option is fishing minnows in deep water and around cover. |
| Bream | Bream fishing has been slow. Anglers have found success using crickets and worms around beds. Look for fish around brush, gravel, cypress trees, and aquatic vegetation, especially during the early morning and late evening hours. |
| Catfish | Catfishing has been good. Anglers have reported success using chicken liver and nightcrawlers in shallow waters. The western side of the lake is popular for catfish, and anglers often use rod & reel, trotlines, and limblines. |
| White Bass | White bass can be caught with crankbaits and tail-spinners along flats or fishing open areas out from the piers. Fishing near the mouth of Muddy Bayou can be good when there is current. |
