JACKSON, MS – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) invites everyone to celebrate America’s 250 years of freedom at one of seven Mississippi State Parks hosting big Fourth of July weekend events this Independence Day.
From star-spangled cookouts to live music and fireworks over the water, Mississippi State Parks is the place to be for a weekend of red, white, and blue fun.
Major celebrations will take place at:
- Roosevelt State Park – Morton, MS
- Paul B Johnson State Park – Hattiesburg, MS
- Clarkco State Park – Quitman, MS
- Percy Quin State Park – McComb, MS
- Buccaneer State Park – Waveland, MS
- Trace State Park – Belden, MS
- J.P. Coleman State Park – Iuka, MS
“Americans have celebrated freedom for 250 years,” said Andre Hollis, MDWFP State Parks Director. “This July 4th, we invite everyone to celebrate that spirit with us at Mississippi State Parks and make memories that will last a lifetime.”
Guests are encouraged to book their cabins and campsites early to secure a spot for the biggest celebration of the summer. Reservations are open now at https://reserve.mdwfp.com/.
While Paul B. Johnson, Percy Quin, and Clarkco State Parks are currently undergoing exciting renovations, visitors should keep an eye out for reopening updates and announcements about when reservations will be available for the holiday weekend.
