JACKSON, MS - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) recently partnered with the 223rd Engineer Battalion of the Mississippi Army National Guard, based at Camp McCain in Grenada, on a hands-on training project at John W. Kyle State Park in Sardis.
As part of the project, soldiers completed improvements to park cabins, including painting, carpentry work, maintenance projects, and the installation of new light fixtures. The project provided valuable practical training opportunities for participating soldiers while helping improve park facilities for future visitors.
The partnership created mutual benefits by providing real-world training experience for members of the 223rd Engineer Battalion while enhancing facilities that will be enjoyed by campers and visitors at John W. Kyle State Park.
