BELDEN, MS - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) wants to inform the public of the reopening of Trace State Park in Belden, Mississippi, effective Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Park reservations for Trace State Park will also reopen tomorrow.

The following state parks remain temporarily closed at this time: Wall Doxey State Park, J.P. Coleman State Park, Tishomingo State Park, Tombigbee State Park, George P. Cossar State Park, Hugh White State Park, John W. Kyle State Park, and Leroy Percy State Park.

Widespread power and water outages, combined with significant safety concerns involving downed trees and debris, have necessitated complete closure of these facilities to protect the public and staff. MDWFP will continue to assess the situation daily and notify the public of any further cancellations or extensions.
