The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) wants to inform the public of the reopening of Tishomingo State Park in Tishomingo effective Wednesday, February 11, 2026 and Hugh White State Park in Grenada effective Monday, February 16, 2026. Park reservations for Tishomingo are now open.
The following facilities remain temporarily closed at this time: Wall Doxey State Park, J.P. Coleman State Park, George P. Cossar State Park, John W. Kyle State Park, Tippah County Lake, and McIvor Shooting Facility.
Widespread power and water outages, combined with significant safety concerns involving downed trees and debris, have necessitated complete closure of these facilities to protect the public and staff. MDWFP will continue to assess the situation daily and notify the public of any further cancellations or extensions.
