JACKSON ­– In response to concerns and out of an abundance of caution over the spread of coronavirus, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Executive Director, Dr. Sam Polles, and the Commission on Mississippi’s Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks have postponed the upcoming South, North, and State Championship Archery In Mississippi Schools (AIMS) tournaments until further notice.

AIMS tournament details were as followed:

  • AIMS South State Qualifier: March 17-19

Forrest County Multi-purpose Center

962 Sullivan Dr.

Hattiesburg, MS 39401

  • AIMS North State Qualifier: March 24-26

Itawamba Community College

602 W. Hill St.

Fulton, MS 38843

  • AIMS State Championships: March 31-April 4

Kirk Fordice Equine Center

1198 Miss State St.

Jackson, MS 39202

The decision was made in conjunction with the recommendations made by the Mississippi Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Mass Gatherings and Large Community Events.
